A Believer in Turbulence (Tests, Trials and Tribulations)

In the Name of Allaah, The Entirely Merciful, The Especially Merciful.

"Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.

Who has created death and life, that He may TEST you which of you is best in deed....." Q67:1-2
"Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to TRY him, so we made him hearer and seer." Q76:1-2

"And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patient ones." Q2:155

Also, Q29: 1-2; also, Q3:142; also, Q2:215.

These verses point to the fact that tests, trials and tribulations are inseparable from our lives.

And I substantiate this with the authentic hadith of the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in which he said:

"The people most severely tested are the Prophets, then the righteous, then the next best and the next best."

In another narration he (Pbuh) said: "A man will be tested in accordance with the degree of his religious commitment, the stronger his religious commitment, the stronger his test." Ibn Katheer

You think you are facing challenges in your life, listen to the tale of others and you will be most grateful to Allaah for giving you what He has given to you.

‎Nobody has got any immunity against tests and trails from Allaah. But some are immuned against being patient when Allaah tests them.

‎Through tests and trials Allaah strengthens our Eeman. Hence, don't look at them from a negative perspective but rather as plus factors that will draw us closer to Allaah.

We are only afflicted to the extent of what Allaah has Decreed, so don't whine but rather hold on to Eeman and Sabr and you will pass through your tests successfully.

Ever wondered why the most beloved of Allaah Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) had to go through severe persecutions characterized by social, economic and spiritual boycotts?

The same Prophet (Pbuh) lost his teeth during the battle of Uhud. He had to swallow the bitter pill of being stoned to blood by the youth of Banu Thaqif of Ta'if.

He lost his beloved wife Khadeejah then his uncle then his daughters then also his most beloved foster brother and uncle Hamzah...all these coupled with days characterized by hunger.

Ever wondered why the intimate friend of Allaah, Ibrahim Khaleel had to face the tyranny of Nimrod and had to accept his test of being thrown into a severely kindled fire?

The same Khaleel Allaah who was blessed with a child at the later stage of his life had to take his wife and this infant to a barren land and leave them their as a test from Allaah.

The same Khaleel Allaah was asked by Allaah to slaughter his son as a test from Allaah.

Ever wondered why Prophet Ayub (AS) who was bestowed with a handsome wealth, children, wives, houses and a sound health had to lose everything including his health as a test from Allaah?

Yazid bin Maysara (RA) in ibn Katheer spoke about the amazing dua of Prophet Ayub when Allaah tested him. The long and short message of the dua was that even at the critical state of severe test he still found an ample space in his heart to be grateful to Allaah and he never for once whined.

Mujahid the student of ibn Abbas (RA) said Ayub was promised to be united in Jannah with all his family members whom he lost and in this world Allaah replaced for him a new set of family members and a handsome wealth also because he was patient.

The Arab poet said: "Do not complain and whine when things are difficult for a day, remember that you've enjoyed prosperity for a very long time."

Brothers and sisters and Islam, a lot are out there who have lost their sanity, hence be grateful to Allaah that He has preserved your sanity.

Remember that whatever difficulty you are facing today.....THIS ALSO WILL PASS.

Stop yourself from despairing and panicking over the tests and trials that Allaah bring your way. They are there to strengthen your Eeman.

May Allaah grant us a beautiful patience during the moments of tests, trials and tribulations.
